Into my heart an air that kills From yon far country blows: What are those blue remembered hills, What spires, what farms are those? This is the land of lost content, I see it shining plain. The happy highways where I went And cannot come again. - A.E. Housman (1859-1936)

Trouble in River City

We discovered this little lass lying on the ground. We really don't know what happened but suspect she was bullied by other hummers. We got her to drink some sugar water but she never really came around. We put he up for a night in a box on our back porch but, alas, she expired during the night.

Such is nature's way.

It's always nice to try! Poor little thing. Those little hummingpigs sure can be mean to each other!
